If you're new to our congregation or a visitor to Beautiful Beaufort, you may find it interesting that we have a Jewish Cemetery. Open to the public by appointment only, it is located at 906 Bladen Street in Beaufort. The Jewish community decided in 1910 to establish their own cemetery. The land was purchased and by 1912, the cemetery was officially established. Beaufort Jews no longer had to be buried in Savannah or Charleston.
Learn more about our Cemetery. The Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina has more information, as well. Want to learn more about who is buried in our Cemetery? Visit here. Did you know that the community center portion of our shul is home to a growing library? Collections of books and photographs have been gathered and generously donated over the years. They are available to review and borrow (with permission) during the times when we are open for Shabbat and Saturday services. Looking to share books, magazines, or photographs of your Southern Jewish life with us? Contact us to arrange a time for a library donation.
