Our Shabbat Services are normally held each Friday evening at 7pm at 401 Scotts Street in Downtown Beaufort. There is free on-street parking after 7pm. The synagogue is handicapped accessible via the ramp into our social hall.
We are currently using this siddur for general Shabbat services: Chaveirim Kol Yisraeil: In The Fellowship of All Israel; a Project of The Progressive Chavurah Siddur Committee of Boston. We have them available in our shul, or if you wish to purchase you're own for daily prayer, visit this Amazon link. During special holidays, we also use Likrat Shabbat (Festival Edition).
Onegs are the 2nd and 4th Shabbats of each month, when Rabbi Stephen Stern is on the bimah. We also have a nosh (with bagels!) after Saturday morning Service when the Rabbi is leading. Join us! Note: (Our kitchen is kosher and we don't serve meat dishes.) If you would like to host an oneg or contribute a dairy dish to a scheduled oneg, Contact Us.
We do not currently have a tot Shabbat service, but children are welcome to join all services.
We also hold holiday services for all major holidays. Visit our Calendar for a listing of these events. You can see photos of recent events in our Gallery, and also on our Facebook page.
A Note on Safety While You Worship: The synagogue (or shul) is "arguably the most important institution in American Jewish life...The synagogue is classically depicted as the site for prayer, study and communal gathering. As a house of worship, the synagogue also serves as a place of companionship, communal identification, children's education and information exchange." (Secure Community Network). In this day and age, synagogues are potential targets for attacks. Congregation Beth Israel has taken measures to ensure your safety and security during times of worship. We are a small congregation, so expect that our worship team will greet you in person to welcome you. We also lock our front and side doors during services. Additionally, we have constructed physical barriers at our entrance that enforce security measures. Lastly, our leadership team have attended (and continue to stay up to date on) situational awareness trainings. These multiple prevention strategies provide defenses that protect our congregants and our shul and beloved Torah scrolls, and deter offenders.

We of course would love for you to join us in person or (for members) on Zoom on Friday nights. Perhaps you're travelling and can't attend? Here is a helpful link to Readings & Prayers, courtesy of the Rabbinical Assembly (Conservative movement).
